LA-210 Beta 1

Our newest free plugin, now in beta

We often joke internally about the “two faces” of Goodhertz — one a buttoned-up engineer intent on precision, the other a peripatetic producer bent on finding the weirdest sounds possible. Some of our plugins embody both spirits (i.e. VCME), while some embody just one or the other (i.e. Midside for geeks, Lossy for freaks). Were it not for the similar pared-back interfaces, you might have a hard time believing the same company produced all of our plugins.

That said, our free plugin lineup has always leaned heavily towards our serious side: Loudness and Midside Matrix are incredible tools for achieving specific tasks, but they won’t destroy your audio.

Until now.

Enter LA-210, a greatest hits of our catalog’s gnarliest analog-inspired digital signal processing, wherein the opto compressor from Tupe meets the soft clipper from VCME meets the FE90 tape model (also from Tupe).

Can it do everything? No. Can it destroy your signal with analog goodness? Yes. And does it look like a map of a freeway in Southern California? Also yes.

The first beta of LA-210 is now available to download on our site. Let us know what you think!
